TSA Songshan Airport Bike Pickup & Transfer
Riders landing at Songshan Airport to start a cycling trip in Taipei will find it works differently from Taoyuan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. The airport sits in the middle of the city, and the Wenhu Line's Songshan Airport station (BR13) puts you downtown in minutes, but its bike rules are the opposite of Taoyuan's Airport MRT and Kaohsiung's R4 station. The Wenhu Line does not allow full-size, unfolded bikes anywhere on the line. Only folded or disassembled bikes that are packed ride free, at any hour. This is the last of our four airport guides, and it runs from terminals and luggage to the Wenhu Line rules and the riverside path next to the airport.

Where Songshan Airport Is and How Its Two Terminals Split
Taipei Songshan Airport is at No. 340-9, Dunhua North Road, Songshan District, and it is the only international airport in Taiwan inside the downtown of a special municipality. It shares its grounds with the Air Force's Songshan Base, so it counts as a military-civilian airport, in the same category as Hualien, Tainan, Penghu, Taichung, and Chiayi, all under the Civil Aeronautics Administration of the Ministry of Transportation. The airport is open daily from 05:00 to 23:00. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 stand next to each other and are linked by a third-floor observation deck.
Most Songshan flights are domestic. International routes are limited to cross-strait connections (such as Shanghai Hongqiao) and short-haul Northeast Asian cities (Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Gimpo, and so on). Terminal 1 handles international and cross-strait flights and Terminal 2 handles domestic ones. Songshan has no intercontinental hub role like Taoyuan's. If you plan to start riding in Taipei right after landing, find out first which terminal your flight uses for check-in and baggage claim. The two buildings are adjacent, but the routes inside are separate.
Collecting a Bike Box and Asking About Baggage Services
Songshan Airport's official 'Facilities' page lists 'Passenger Baggage Service' and 'Baggage Inquiry' but says nothing more about either one. The airport has also not published a dedicated route for checking in or collecting bike boxes and bike bags. If you arrive with a bike box, ask the airline you checked in with how oversize baggage is handled, and ask the airport service counter about the actual location and scope of the service.
A bike box is collected like any other checked bag, so you wait at the carousel. Songshan's terminals are small and the routes are short, so the walk from customs to baggage claim is much shorter than at a large international airport. If timing allows, a support vehicle can meet you right outside the terminal and take your luggage and bike in one trip.
Taxis, Parking, and Where to Meet Your Pickup
Taxis queue near the automatic payment machines by Parking Lot 1 and near the management office by Parking Lot 2. The airport has several paid parking areas. Rates change by time of day and by announcement, so check the airport's website or the on-site signs for the current price.
We could not find an announcement of a numbered meeting-pole system like Taoyuan's at Songshan. The ground-floor exits of both terminals are the main pickup areas. Agree on a specific meeting spot with your driver beforehand, such as the Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 exit, and follow the on-site signs once you arrive.
Bike Rules at Wenhu Line Station BR13
Songshan Airport station (BR13) is on the Taipei MRT Wenhu Line. Taipei Metro's rules state that no station on the line, BR13 included, lets passengers bring in a regular, unfolded bicycle. Two of the other airports in this series, Taoyuan's Airport MRT and Kaohsiung's R4 station, both allow full-size bikes, with different fees and time windows, so the Wenhu Line does the opposite. It also has no paid 'combined bike-and-passenger ticket', so even if you are willing to pay extra, an unfolded bike still cannot go through the gates at BR13.
Folded bikes are not restricted. Once a bike is folded or taken apart and packed (longest side no more than 165 cm after packing, length plus width plus height no more than 220 cm), it travels like ordinary luggage, with no time restriction and no extra ticket. You can take a folding bike on the Wenhu Line to and from Songshan Airport station at any hour. If your bike is a full-size, unfolded one, you need a taxi or a support vehicle, because it cannot be carried onto a Wenhu Line car.
The Keelung Riverside Path and YouBike
The airport's official website has a dedicated 'Bicycle' page under its 'Airport Transportation' category, and there is a YouBike public bike rental station in front of the terminals. After you arrive, you can rent a bike on the spot and join Taipei's cycling network.
The airport also sits right next to the Keelung River. The riverside bike paths on its left and right banks, managed by the Water Resources Engineering Office of the Taipei City Public Works Department, connect with the sections around the airport. The left bank is about 22.2 km long and the right bank about 20.6 km. You can cross between them over bridges such as Dazhi Bridge, Maishuai 1st Bridge, Rainbow Bridge, and Chenggong Bridge, and Dajia Riverside Park is a notable stretch along the way. For riders who arrive with a folding bike, or who collect a bike box and want to ride straight toward downtown, the riverside path is right next to the airport.
Support Vehicle for Full-Size Bikes and Groups
If you arrive with an unfolded, full-size bike, or you are a group with several people and bikes, the Wenhu Line is not an option. A support vehicle can meet you at the terminal exit and take people and bikes in one trip, with no Wenhu bike rules or train-car limits to work around, and no need to find a taxi downtown and squeeze a bike into it.
24EZGO has provided logistics support for cycling races and events since 2020. We support 10 to 20 events a year on average, and have served more than 3,000 people. We currently run 4 support vehicles, and a single dispatch can carry up to 8 people and 8 bikes. Whether you are heading straight into a Taipei ride after landing at Songshan or just need people and bikes moved to the next stop, tell us your flight time, number of people, and number of bikes, and we will arrange the transfer.
